Due:
This year, we are changing the way leadership works in our orchestra program. Rather than having traditional positions such as President and Vice President, students will have the opportunity to within the orchestra.
Leadership is an important part of our program because an orchestra is a team. Great leaders help create a positive environment, support their classmates, encourage others, and take responsibility for helping the ensemble succeed. Leadership is not about being the best musician or having the most experience—it is about being dependable, responsible, respectful, and willing to serve others.
Each leadership role will have specific responsibilities, and students will be selected based on their ability to fulfill those responsibilities and positively contribute to the orchestra. This gives more students the opportunity to lead in ways that match their individual strengths and interests.
