Knight School Chess Club

Club Description: 

This isn't your grandpa's boring old chess club, this is your school's official chess team and chess party! We have created tons of super-fun teaching methods, including fast, action-packed chess games, puzzlers for prizes, hilarious lessons, "tactics bands" kids can collect, and much more! Whether you're brand new to chess or already a pro, there's plenty to love as we laugh and learn and play our way to becoming devastatingly good at chess!

Spanish Club

Club Description: 

Spanish Enrichment is designed to allow children to explore Spanish through 3 learning styles: Audio, visual and kinesthetic. We promote positive participation including interactive exercises with games, songs, sentences to practice & writing.

Fee: $80 to register, $55 per month

Dungeons and Dragons Club

Club Description: 

Students will be able to build community and friendship through playing Dungeons and Dragons with peers. Dungeons and Dragons is a role-play based tabletop game that helps students develop skills in creative problem solving, math skills, reading skills, community building and social skills, and leadership skills.

Fee: $25 per semester

Improv Club

Club Description: 

Improv Club will give students the opportunity to learn improv techniques, play improv games, improve their stage presence, and build performance skills and confidence. Students will get the chance to explore improv as a form of expression and performance. Students will learn the basics/rules of improv, improv games, and uses for improv in performances. 

Fee: $25 per semester

Students will be able to gain a better understanding of math fundamentals and problem solving through tutoring and assistance. Students must come with their own homework/questions from classwork. Students are required to sign-up using the google form, posted in their Math Class google classroom. Sign-ups close every Thursday at (noon) 12:00pm.

Running and Agility Club

Club Description: 

Running club will give students the opportunity to build friendships, health and fitness through training for a 5K. The final 5K run will be the Parker Turkey Trot. 

Fee: $25 plus Turkey Trot Registration fee

Technical Theatre Club

PPA middle school students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of technical theatre including lighting, sound, painting, props creation and more. Students will learn through lecture and hands-on experience. Students will be required to assist with the tech for at least 1 evening show minimum each semester.

GSA

Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a part of the national GSA coalition where the objective is to create a safe and LGBTQ inclusive school. GSA will allow students to receive support, socialize and find community together. The club will discuss topics such as support, education, and advocacy surrounding topics of the LGBTQ nature.

International Junior Thespian Society is a theatre based honor society that promotes excellence in academics and theatrical performances. National Junior Honors Society provides young scholars the opportunity to serve others & gain leadership experience through organizational activities and projects. PPA's Student Council provides a place for students to learn leadership skills, creative problem solving, community engagement, and culture building. The Student Council supports the PPA community by helping get food/supplies/gifts to people/organizations in need in our community. They will also be the enthusiastic torch bearers of school spirit for PPA and assist with PPA activities as needed.
