While you enjoy the few, fleeting days of summer, we thought we’d take a look back at the 2023-24 school. What a year it was!
Great Students
We started the year with a cheerful welcome from the Kindness Crew who greeted us on the first day before we even knew what an exciting year of learning and performing was ahead.
At PPA we practice the art of education, combining arts and academics in every class. Mrs. Poplawski, our middle school art teacher, applied math to an art lesson when she asked 7th and 8th graders to design tessellations. Students used measurements to design geometric tiles that covered a surface with no gaps or overlaps. What a fusion of skills!
Every week we celebrated our students and our alumni (forever members of the PPA community) and their amazing accomplishments on Way-to-Go Wednesday. From landing roles in major productions to achieving academic success and giving back to the local community PPA has GREAT STUDENTS!
Great Performers
Our 2023 fall production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. kicked off a great season of great performances. With students involved on-stage and behind the scenes we’re learning every aspect of theater and putting on shows not only on our Main Stage, but throughout Douglas County.
The Middle School Orchestra entertained guests at CASA’s Red Wagon Fundraiser which also featured our choir, dancers, and theater troupe.
Several PPA students danced in the Parker Arts presentation of the Nutcracker. And we capped the season with a rousing rendition of An Act of Piracy.
Great People
Not to be outdone, the PPA staff got in on the act at our spring showcase. They danced, sang, performed on instruments, and showed their acting chops to a packed house of PPA families.
Every arts teacher here has a professional background and continues to perform when they’re not training the next generation.
We had some fun with PPA’s extended family at Starstruck: An Out of This World Night for our entire school community. It was a school dance on the edge of the universe and included everything from games to facepainting to dancing.
Looking Ahead
Next week the Kindness Crew will take their places in front of school to welcome students to the 2024-25 school year. We’ve got some great events planned including these year’s productions: Oliver Jr. and A Wrinkle in Time.
It’s not too late to join us. There are a few spots still available in some grades. Contact us now and join us for the first day of school on August 14th to make memories at PPA.
